Gate mural including the family dogs

Metal courtyard gate, using recycled materials. After sketching this design, I gave it to Clayton Winter to weld. The finish is linseed oil brushed over rust.

Teak panels used as a railing at Anthropologie in Portland, Oregon. One of these would be an ornate centerpiece in a garden gate.

I love looking at the wide variety of gates. Thanks for sharing those!
ReplyDeleteThe metal gate that you designed is my favorite. It's wonderful to look at and a terrific use of recycled materials. Garden gates can be inviting or act as barriers. Yours is playful and lets visitors know that someone very creative has been at work - and suggests that what awaits inside is equally wonderful and original.
ReplyDeleteThese are so beautiful, I'm hardpressed to pick a favourite, but I think it would be the recycled metal one, just because that would so suit my own garden.
ReplyDeleteEnchanting. I wonder how many passing dogs bark at those two posed in the open gate? Loved your recycled gate!
ReplyDeleteI am late seeing this post but still wanted to comment on the beautiful gates. I think a gate can say a lot about a garden. I really like the recycled metal gate; I would love to have something like that!
