Camellia sasanqua 'Yuletide'
Arbutus (Strawberry Tree) This beauty was blooming outside a coffee shop. I believe it is Arbutus 'Marina'.
Grevillea
Anigozanthos (Kangaroo Paw)
Pryacantha
Abelia x graniflora 'Kaleidoscope
Rosmarinus officinalis 'Prostratus'

Initially, I thought the Kangaroo's Paw was a kind of gorse. Are they related?

I love the strawberry tree. The camellia is also very pretty. My camellias are full of buds but not near to blooming yet. Still very wintry here, dreary gray and icy today. It's nice to see some colorful plants!
ReplyDeleteHi Esther, I was not familiar with the Ulex (Gorse) and so looked it up in the A-Z Plant Encyclopedia. The plants are not related. The Kangaroo Paw is an evergreen Australian perennial. It has rhizomes and lance shaped leaves rather like an Iris. I thought that Ulex was related to Erica (Heath) but apparently not. Thank you for the question! It was a fun research project.
ReplyDeleteThe Strawberry Tree is glorious. Love the Grevilla too.
